MRO Services Analyst

Within the Technical Division, the department MRO Services Management is responsible for all third-party-provided MRO (maintenance, repair & overhaul) services on our airframes and engines. The team has the commercial responsibility for the strategic and operational business to ensure the airline obtains value for money at a defined level of quality. Based on the long-term need for third-party maintenance support and in close cooperation with the other Lufthansa Group airlines, the team evaluates, selects and contracts the right MRO partners from within the Lufthansa Group and from the worldwide MRO market. Once contracted, the team actively manages our suppliers, making use of business intelligence based on key performance indicators; thereby ensuring supplier performance meets the contractually agreed targets. As MRO Services Analyst, you are responsible for the analysis of performance, cost and process data, KPIs, Financial Controlling and Reporting of the contracted MRO Services.


Your duties

  • Preparation, analysis and reporting of the financial reports and KPIs of externally provided MRO Services to the management
  • Monitoring and analysis of the MRO Services cost, quality and performance parameters
  • Identification and recommendation of improvements to increase process and cost efficiency (continuous improvement)
  • Support preparation of the budget for MRO Services including monthly monitoring and forecasting of the costs’ development
  • Calculation of the effect of mid- and long-term operational changes to the MRO Services cost
  • Analysis and administration of the MRO Services data in various applications (e.g. contract database, savings database)
  • Determination and analysis of the cost share of indirect maintenance services provided to a partner company

Your profile

  • Bachelor or Master degree in business administration or work experience in the financial or technical field with relevant further education (accounting or controlling)
  • Knowledge of aviation MRO industry / airline know-how
  • Technical understanding and high affinity of technical environment
  • Basic education in Project Management and Controlling
  • Structured person with affinity for data analysis
  • Very strong analytical skills and ability to interpret results
  • Self-motivated with pro-active attitude
  • Good communicator, flexible team player and strong sense of prioritization
  • Advanced user knowledge of MS-Office products, especially MS Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP, AMOS and Tableau is an advantage
  • Database knowledge (Access, SQL, etc.)
  • Fluency in English and German (oral and written), any other language as advantage
