Human Resource Business Partner

A great opportunity is available to join the HR team in our Lufthansa InTouch Cape Town Customer  Service center. The sucessful person must have a drive for  business performance through the appropriate implementation of HR initiatives. The areas of impact would  include employee relations, reward, performance/productivity, development, payroll and employee benefits.


Job description


  • Work closely with fellow members of the HR team to develop and implement tactical solutions to enable achievement of operational targets
  • Effective communication of information between the Account and all other relevant departments to ensure all clients’ and Company goals are achieved

Employee Relations

  • Supporting managers, as required, in relation to disciplinary, incapacity and grievance processes
  • Chairing and facilitating disciplinary/incapacity hearings, performance/behavior management and sick management

Pastel Payroll

  • Closing off records and calculating all owing shift allowances, leave days, company loans, etc
  • All administration tasks which will be required from time to time
  • Capturing all master changes such as promotions, demotions, department moves, etc
  • Capture all new starters and terminations onto pastel

Performance Management

  • Support management in the utilisation and application of performance management tools
  • Support managers in ensuring a performance management culture is developed throughout the account where results are measured both in qualitative and quantitative terms and above average performance is rewarded appropriately

People development

  • Ensure a continuous process of identifying HR learning needs at all levels of your area of responsibility
  • Work with the Learning and Development team (where necessary) to design and roll out relevant learning interventions relating to HR

Your profile

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management and/or 5 years’ experience fulfilling an HR Generalist function - preferably in the contact centre industry.
  • Previous work experience with Pastel payroll highly advantageous
  • Demonstrated experience in providing people solutions across the full suite of Human Resource managerial disciplines
  • Solid understanding of contemporary HR trends and challenges
  • Demonstrated understanding of local labour law and associated regulations
  • Excellent analytical skills essential
  • Good relationship builder
  • Be able to work in South Africa
